North West Trucks Services Limited is seeking an experienced New Truck Sales Executive to manage and expand sales in a nominated postcode area. The successful candidate will be responsible for building customer relationships, increasing NWT and DAF retail penetration, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and delivering exceptional service. This role requires thorough knowledge of UK sales laws and practices, as well as using sales systems, attending industry training, and meeting sales targets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Achieve Sales Targets and Market Penetration:

  • Sell new trucks within a designated postcode area, increasing NWT and DAF retail penetration in line with company and manufacturer targets.
  • Consistently meet or exceed gross profit contribution targets from truck and service sales.

2. Build and Maintain Customer Relationships:

  • Develop and manage relationships with both new and existing retail accounts.
  • Regularly visit customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.

3. Compliance and Timely Delivery:

  • Ensure all vehicles and services are delivered in accordance with legal, contractual, manufacturer, and customer specifications.
  • Adhere to all UK sales laws and best practices, ensuring full compliance with regulations related to the sale of vehicles, financial products, and customer contracts.
  • Stay up to date with all relevant UK legislation, including consumer rights, data protection, and health and safety requirements.

4. Customer Service and Professionalism:

  • Handle all customer enquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Always represent North West Trucks in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the company's reputation.

5. Time Management and CRM Utilisation:

  • Manage your time effectively to optimise sales performance and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Use the Voyager CRM system (effective from October 2021) to manage customer relationships and sales activities efficiently.

6. Quote Generation and System Utilisation:

  • Produce accurate and competitive customer quotes using relevant DAF systems such as IST and TOPEC.

7. Training and Development:

  • Attend all required DAF Dealer Sales Training as outlined in the DAF Dealer Sales Training Plan.
  • Maintain valid HGV Licence, CPC certification, and Digital Tachograph Card, ensuring all required training is up to date.
  • Continuously develop product knowledge and stay updated on industry trends through DAF E-Campus and other training programmes.

8. Assist with Logistics:

  • Assist with the delivery and collection of vehicles or drivers as required.

9. Vehicle and Asset Management:

  • Maintain the company car, reporting any issues immediately to the Sales Director.

10. Team Collaboration and Support:

  • Share knowledge and insights with colleagues to help improve overall company performance.
  • Participate in marketing and promotional activities, including events which may be held during evenings or weekends.

11. Adherence to Sales Laws and Practices:

  • Ensure compliance with UK sales regulations, including adherence to FCA guidelines for the sale of financial products, proper handling of contracts, and transparent pricing practices.
  • Conduct sales activities ethically and transparently, ensuring customers are provided with accurate information regarding vehicle specifications, warranties, and service agreements.

12. Additional Duties:

  • Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by management

 

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in sales, ideally within the truck or commercial vehicle industry. DAF sales experience highly regarded.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the truck market, customer requirements, and UK sales laws and regulations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-centric approach with a commitment to providing tailored solutions and excellent service.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Driving Licence: A valid HGV licence , CPC certification, and Digital Tachograph Card are highly regarded
  • Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with DAF systems (IST, TOPEC) and CRM tools (such as Voyager) is advantageous.
